Like hydration for your core temp

There's nothing magical about dumping heat. From a standpoint of science, you are just helping your body pull heat out of the body faster than it can on its own, from the same places where heat is most efficiently released (the hands).


Just as taking regular and consistent water breaks during activity helps keep you hydrated, regularly and consistently dumping heat out of your body helps keep your rising core temperature from rising too quickly. Which is wonderful, since high core temps lead to heat-related symptoms, like fatigue, excessive sweating, loss of concentration, cramping, and headaches.


So just like taking water breaks, take regular breaks to dump heat during exercise, and that will help you play better for longer!
