Here's a recent article from The Economist, addressing the growing consequences of playing sports in the heat, in the context of the recent U.S. Open. The first line of the article, which is a quote from #5 world ranked men's player Daniil Medvedev, should sum it up pretty well: "One player gonna die." [paywall]
