It's a thin line between optimal and disaster



Even though we can tolerate being in a wide (60-70 degree) range of external temperatures, the body has to operate within a very narrow (7-9 degree) range of internal temperatures. This is one of the reasons why our muscles, which produce heat when they work, can fatigue relatively quickly during workouts; fatigue forces rest, and that allows for internal heat to get diffused.
